Doki American Bulldog Young Male in Chico, California

My story
Doki loves attention and really wants to be a house dog.  He was surrendered to us because his family said they no longer had time for him and left him outdoors. After having little interaction he would dig out of the yard or jump the fence.  We've seen him jump a 6ft fence--he doesn't run off, comes to the door to get in.  His best life would be mostly in the house, with some breaks outside in a yard he can explore, then back in.  He's timid around new people but with a little patience and encouragement he is happy to be a friend.  He loves riding and sleeping in a car. He is good in a crate, will stay quietly 3-4 hours during the day (please not 8!) and can be crated all night. He's a good watch dog with a big bark.  Knows sit, is housebroke, and is learning to walk calmly on a leash.  He's good with small dogs, sometimes choosey with bigger dogs.  Probably will chase cats.  He is alarmed by kids, barks and seems afraid, although has been around them in his earlier life. Doki is looking for a forever home that will give him time in the house and attention he craves.  He would be a great addition to a home with adults who want the security of a big dog who would bark away strangers!!

Please apply to adopt at wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com if you would like to schedule an appointment to meet him.

His adoption fee is 225, this will cover his vaccinations, neuter surgery, a lifetime microchip heartworm testing and prevention, and a wellness check.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Doki, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
